How many are left at Atlanta now (the 2 remaining females, the younger one being the offspring of the female with Tambo)? Any plans for a new breeding male?
I was there today and none were on exhibit. It was the only "missing" larger mammal. It was relatively cool today (60s, sunny and windy). David Bright keeps his outside year round and he is in relatively cooler East tennessee.
There are no plans for new bongo male. In fact all of the bongos are scheduled to leave eventually for various homes across the country unless something has changed.
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but here is a detailed map NOT of the entire zoo but specifically the new Reptile House: ZOO MAP
A very well-done and informative map indeed! I like the species lineup, but I'm surprised by the lack of mixed-species exhibits.
Another great success, thanks for posting. Anyone know the other US zoos with the (sub)species? I thought Atlanta was the only one, but I had always kept my eye open anyways.
