So I can now confirm that the capuchins are yellow-breasted.

Another new species will arrive soon at the zoo : penguins !
One of my friend show me a picture where I can see a large pool with a panel indicating "Soon new" with a picture of penguins who look like african.

The collection of this medium zoo is growing month after month.

It would make more sense if they were humbolt penguins when we see the last
    novelty.
After researching, I noticed that there is works between the orangutan enclosure and their island. And when i see photos in google advice, I thought I saw a new male orangutan.

A friend of mine visited the zoo yesterday. Not a lot to say but :
    - there are a lot of new enclosures that had been created to welcome all the new species arrived recently and a lot building works in the zoo (but don't know more).
    - it was not known before but goliath herons are labelled in the african walkthrough aviary.

My friend was kind enough to send me the panels of the species housed into the two walkthrough aviaries so I give you below the list :
    - african aviary : goliath herons, western cattle egrets, black crowned night herons, african spoonbills, hamerkops, fulvous whistling ducks, common shelducks, comb ducks, marabou storks, Abdim's storks, yellow-billed storks, european white storks, northern bald ibis, glossy ibis, african sacred ibis, pygmy hippos.
    - south-american aviary : wood ducks, coscoroba swans, military macaws, white-cheeked pintails, black-bellied whistling ducks, chiloe wigeons, blue and yellow macaws, green-winged macaws, scarlet macaws, blue-winged macaws, yellow-shouldered amazons, mitred conures, southern screamers, maras, scarlet ibisses, black-necked stilts, red-crowned amazons, turquoise-fronted amazons, yellow-fronted amazons, yellow-naped amazons.

Last July the zoo welcomed the birth of a yellow-breasted capuchin : a male called Rio.
I wonder if it's the first birth for this species in the zoo ?!

Recently a male Binturong (Arctictis binturong) named Rangoon arrived from Vadaspark (Szeged), he will accompany the already present female Wipa.

Maybe a big news :D : for some days there were rumours about the arrival of a honey badger in the zoo. I was fairly sceptical but I suppose I was wrong as I find a descriptive sheet on the zoo internet site for the species (like for the other species they hold) : https://zoodubassindarcachon.com/Animal/ratel/
For the moment this page is not connect to the rest of the site but you can find it with a quick search on google.

Of course, the zoo has not communicated on for the moment and it needs confirmation but now I am quite sure I will see honey badger not too far from my place :p

From the new brochure the zoo will welcome this year :
    - yellow-footed rock wallabies,
    - parma wallabies,
    - cockatoos and lorikeets.
No mention of the ratel but still possible when you know this zoo !

Wow! Arcachon will always surprise me in the number of new things they manage to pull off every year. And quite the species too!

Yes, they have now an incredible amount of species and they manage to get some every year. To be honest, I would prefer them to get less and do better job with but things are going up slowly.

According to Zootierliste, Burgers Zoo sent Bassin a Sumatran Tiger? Does anyone know which one they sent?

Earlier this year, the zoo received one of the unnamed male Sumatran Tiger born to Batu x Bethari at Aalborg.

At the end of march the Zoo received a one year old male asian small-clawed otter called Fredy from Zoa, zoo in Sanary-sur-Mer (France). It joined Shima, the resident female, to form a new breeding pair.

I can now confirm that there is a ratel off show at the zoo. Don't know more unfortunately (from which zoo the animal came, where he will be put...).

Other news : a visayan tarictic hornbill pair is now presented in an aviary in the orangutan house.
