    I would have to agree. I have seen photos of their Red-capped Mangabey group. They live in a grass paddock with a small pile of old/worn branches/logs in the centre. I am amazed anyone can willingly display forest-dwelling Primates like that and think it is acceptable in this day and age.

    Does the zoo have red crowned mangabeys?, i thought it was the tierpark that displayed them?

    I was referring to the Tierpark group. Maybe I didn't read the previous posts properly...:eek:

    You are correct that West Berlin Zoo doesn't have them.

    An aardvark is currently being hand raised by the staff at the zoo.
    A lowland anoa has also been born recently, along with 4 fennec foxes and a mandrill

    Births and arrivals at the zoo in the first few months of the year are:

    6 southern pochard have been put on show in the indoor pool of the common hippos.
    "M'Zima" the female white rhino died, she was aged 38 and was imported from Kenya in 1977.
    1.0 okapi "Steve" arrived from Leipzig.
    1.0 banteng born.
    0.1 nyala born.
    1.0 Australian pelican hatched, his parent were imported to the zoo from Surubaya, Indonesia in 1994.
    1.1 sable antelope born, the female was actually born in 2010.
    0.0.2 jaguarundi born.

    A further 2011 update 0.0.2 maguari stork hatched (3rd year in a row)
    2.2 bongo born (after a 3 year break in breeding)
    0.0.2 capybara born (1st breeding for 10 years)
    1.2 warthog born
    0.0.4 emu hatched
    0.1 black howler monkey born

    two calves in one year.... what a shame, both of them were female too. :(

    2.1 Siberian ibex born

    A new enclosure completed for the zoo's group of Sumatran orangutan, the enclosure covers 600m2.

    A female Andean condor has been hatched at the zoo, the first since 1989, this bird has been hand reared.

    13 ostrich have also been hatched.
