Huge news from the zoo. Next year they will be welcoming a pack of dholes. No clue where they are arriving from but its a new species at the zoo and will be the only pack in Canada since Toronto's last dhole died some time ago.

I speak French and I confirm they don't say much apart from it's the return of Canidae to the zoo and to follow them for update on the exhibit construction and the arrival of the species at the zoo. :)

You are handy to have around when there are videos on Granby's Facebook page. You are probably one of the few Canadian members who can tell us what they are saying.

Most definitely and also for other French, French-Canadian and "French-speaking countries" zoos. Don't hesitate to ask me. :)

Hi, do you think the Granby Zoo will keep the Japanese serow on display?
I am delighted that this species is surviving in North America.

The zoo is waiting to see if a Caribbean flamingo egg laid on Valentine's Day will hatch. The chick should arrive between March 14-17. This would be the first chick for the zoo since 2001.

Snow leopard male, Kang, recently underwent surgery to remove a cyst on his bladder. He was in critical condition but has come through well enough that he is back on exhibit.

The flamingo egg did not hatch but a second egg has been laid and its expected hatch date is mid April.

News about the dholes exhibit! The geodesic dome, a symbol of the zoo will be integrated in the new habitat that should be open by June.

Built for polar bears (!), the dome has been home to Japanese macaques, Eurasian eagle-owl and mantled guereza.

This is just so exciting! The dome reminds me of the aviary at the Queens Zoo that was a relic from the World's Fair. Love they'll be incorporating it into the new exhibit!
