It is certainly a great idea to improve the outdated infrastructure at San Antonio Zoo, and the idea of an expansion is intriguing, but at this point everything seems to be a vague pipe dream with no clear, specific plans. I'm sure that it has not gone unnoticed that other major Texas zoos (Dallas, Houston and Fort Worth) have all seen notable exhibits created in the past 6 years while there has not been the same sense of urgency in San Antonio for dramatic change.

Well we can't judge based on the press. What has been discussed or considered and with whom never gets announced until it is reasonably concrete or public support is needed.

The part across the street will eventually be Asia. I don't know much more than that, but Asian elephants are planned. Of course, it could still all change.
