Since yesterday the Zoo Hoyerswerda has again Brown bears in its collection. 2 brothers - Bjorn and Bengt - were born 2010 at the Nationalpark Bayrischer Wald and now moved to the newly build enclosure at Hoyerswerda.

The Zoo Hoyerswerda had an old pair of Leopards from which the male was born in 1994 and came to Hoyerswerda in 2001. Because of its old age he already had for a longer time problems with it's kidnies. After he started also to refues it's food and madications couldn't given anymore, the zoo dicided at saterday 14 April to put him asleep.
The zoo is now left with a 20 years old female.

I just had a look at their website and zoo map. The map has various animals represented by images which are incorrect. For example there is a picture of pronghorn when it should be sable antelope.
