0,4 hybrid chimpanzees arrived from Ostrava Zoo in exchange to 0,3 pure West African chimpanzees from Leipzig.

Leipzig will receive 2 new pangolins from Taipei this year, they are hoping to breed with them.

For the 4 False gharials already living in Leipzig a mals has been obtained. However, because the male is only 10 years old and much smaller as the females, he has to be kept in a seperated enclosure for the time being.

To expand on the above, Leipzig have exchanged the male which had already been present at Paignton (and was the first Sunda Gharial born in Europe, back in 2005 at Bioparc Fuengirola) for one of their five females. If memory serves me correctly this leaves Paignton with a total of 0.4 individuals.

It is a pity that Leipzig sent the very fine-looking male which they already held to Zoo Dresden in November 2015 - the biggest individual of the species I have seen to date, being a wild-caught individual which came to Tierpark Berlin as an adult in 1984 - but I daresay there was a good reason for this decision, so shall not complain.

Here's a job for you ShonenJake; can you list all the European Zoos which are keeping/ breeding pure Western Chimps and the number/ratio/any other details you have of them? A new thread would be good for this probably.

Can anyone tell me (BjoernN, if you're around, maybe you'd know this?) the groups of chimps?

So names, genders, ages and whether they're verus or hybrids? Thank you so much!

Ok other than Maja, Hope, Zira and Bambari (new females from Ostrava) does anyone know the other 5 non-subspecific/hybrid females? I know the only hybrid male is Alex...
