Looks like it is going to be great. I'll definitely be visiting and taking photos in June. Very excited about this new addition to the Tulsa Zoo!

Seems they are also planning on making it into a marketable video film or TV screening.

The video was a facebook live stream done by the local CBS news affiliate as they filmed a weekly segment called "Wild Wednesday" for the morning news show. The principal woman in the video, LeAnne Taylor, is the local morning show host.

When did Tulsa get maleo? I assume they came from Bronx? Who else in the US has them now?

Edit: Besides Houston, which I just saw also received them.

Tulsa and San Diego (the other holder) have had maleo for several months now, with Houston acquiring the species much more recently. Those three zoos each keep 1.1, while Bronx has 17 (I assume the sexes are split about evenly but am not sure). Hopefully they'll continue to spread!

It does not appear to be so.

Houston had them on exhibit last summer, so I wouldn't call them recent acquisition

Where did all of these zoos get maleos? Has the Bronx Zoo been so good at it's program that they're spreading them out?

Last year sometime. And yes, it has been, especially since 2013 or so it seems.

I pieced it together this morning. It should be 8.9 at Bronx with 1.1 at each of the other three.

A preview for the Tulsa Zoo's new "Lost Kingdom" Asian species section was held last night and several photos were publically posted today on Facebook (do a search for "Tulsa Zoo Lost Kingdom" on FB and you'll find at least two people with quite a few photos from the preview). Looks great! Particularly impressed with the size of the Snow Leopard habitat.

I received the permission of the photos owner to post her pictures of the Lost Kingdom complex. They are now posted on Zoo Chat in the Tulsa Zoo photos page.

Houston currently holds 0.2, however once a male is available they will send one of the females back to Bronx and receive the male to make a pair.
