The zoo just acquired a Patagonian Mara that will be an animal ambassador. I saw this from a post on their Instagram and it looks like he's visible to the public. Possibly the enclosure near the Fishing Cats or the one near the Tigers.
Just visited. Here are some updates. I didn’t see the paca and there were no signs for it. It wasn’t even in the holding building. There’s a Speckled Pigeon in the small exhibit near the Harris’ Hawks.
Does Cohanzick still keep Asiatic Black Bears? It lists it on their website, but has anyone actually been to the zoo and seen it? Thinking about visiting this zoo when I visit NYC in a few weeks. Asiatic BB is the only ursid I never yet saw in captivity (or wild).
The North American Porcupine has moved into the White-nosed Coati exhibit and the Great Horned Owl is gone.
