I was just wondering what people think of the name "ZooBeat" ?

It took me a while to come up with a name that was short, easy to remember, and had domain names available (not an easy thing to come up with !). But I'm still not convinced it's right.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the current name, or suggestions for a better name ?

Its as good as any , I guess . The only other idea that I could think of is
    ZOO CREW
Or , if we are part of a zoo forum , I guess that makes us the ZOOFORs

just a small insignificant thing, but could you please correct the spelling error in the top bar? it should read "Discussion" not "Disucssion"

    thank you!

    It is a good title

I quite like ZooBeat, Sim. It is original, and the metaphor of someone idly patrolling and looking after a particular 'street' fits.

Or, is it a drum beat...?

    Best,

    Otherwise Zoobeat is very well.

I'm guessing it refers to news, i.e. a reporters "beat"...

Police have traditionally had to walk the "beat" in Britain, NZ, Aus etc, i.e. their patrol area...

I love the name, either meaning seems to refer to zoo's being the user's "patch"...

Actually the name was actually chosen by searching for a domain name as short as possible that contained the word "zoo" :D

I used various domain name generator tools to search through thousands of combinations - looking for names that were available.

I should have also mentioned that the reasons you mentioned were part of why I chose this name when I saw it were available - so you were part right!

For me I chose "zoo" and "naute for Internet. Zoobeats is cool and short. This only serves to rein to have a long name

    i've got it!!

whilst i know a name is just a name, like sim our dear creator - i have never been super-fond of the name "ZooBeat". however i have never thought of a anything more appropriate.

    until now...

    "ZooGroupie"

its effectively what we are and its what some of us are increasingly calling ourselves here. i think its thus more appropriate and its kinda a bit fun.

i wanna change our name to "ZooGroupie Forums"

    yeah?

I can't see what you see - you'd have to upload a screenshot rather than just a link.
