What do you mean by "Cannot remember decent reptile house"? In the sense of when you visited you didn't see one? If that's the question, the reptile house just recently reopened as part of the zoo's 69th anniversary on the 10th of February. And I agree, Lace monitors are lovely animals.

When last I visited a few years back is from when I cannot remember seeing a reptile house and confirms I didnot miss anything. Be interested what other species they have on exhibit in the reptile house.
Sadly the webpage hasn't been updated, so we don't really have a proper species list. On their Twitter I've seen pictures of Lace monitors, Argentine black-and-white tegu, Central bearded dragon, Iberian ribbed newt, Cuban tree boa, and what I think looks like a ball python.
