    I agree that you can't just name a family. However, Australia only has the one species of Sittella - the Varied Sittella, although there are six different subspecies.

    You mean Blue-faced Honeyeater.

    I visited a place where a pair of Ruby-Crowned Kinglets are (very unusual this time of year) but did not find them. I am happy with the titmouse and Pileated Woodpecker, though.

    Just like last year I had to work on the first, so the year started slow but I was able to pick up a few common birds and a mammal. It will pick up pace in a few days though. I also decided to go with the IOC list this year.

    I know. In the summer Orange Bellied parrots migrate from Tasmania to here. The suburb were I live is known to have them feeding in Salt Marshes where they remain throughout the Summer. ;)

    There wasn’t a lot of them. They would land on a branch for a few seconds andbthen fly off again. I would probably say I saw around 8 or 9. Maybe even 10.;)

    Yes, Blue Wings and Orange bellies are fairly similar but I am sure I saw a small group of Orange bellied parrots because the birds that I saw seemed to have the distinctive bright orange coloration on their bellies.
