Added one species to the list on my latest visit to Colchester Zoo (13th February):

I looked for the binturong and Asian small-clawed otters, but neither were in evidence again.

Had a spare minute so quickly counted up the eligible species for the challenge - in total the max score anyone could get is 1091, which can be broken down to:

    Mammals - max. 188
    Birds - max. 525
    Reptiles - max. 250
    Amphibs - max. 78
And then 25 apiece for inverts and fish.

Looking through the list of species that count, I'd be surprised if someone didn't reach somewhere in the 300-500 range as many of the species are fairly commonplace.

Aquazoo Leerdam yielded the first fish for the challenge this year, and quite a neat list as well!

    Fish
    1. Zebra Loach, Botia striata
    2. Denison Barb, Sahyadria denisonii
    3. Garra flavatra
    4. Reticulated Hillstream Loach, Sewellia lineolata
    5. Malabar Danio, Devario malabaricus
    6. Pearl Gourami, Trichopodus leerii

    8. Half-banded Kuhli Loach, Pangio semicincta
    9. Banded Archerfish, Toxotes jaculatrix
    10. Green Chromide, Etroplus suratensis
    00. Loas Fireback Snakehead, Channa sp. "laos fireback" *

    * As far as I know the exact species to which this variant of snakehead belongs to is not certain, and it may be an undescribed (sub)species, so I am not sure if I can count it.
