Yesterday I went with my wife, my daughter and my grand-child ( 4 1/2 months old and already his 5th zoo ! ) to Apenheul, a place not very famous for its amphibian-collection !
Only 2 species are kept in the small Nocturnal House but one of them would be new for the Challenge but... I couldn't find it in its enclosure :( !
So I still can't add the Maranon dart frog - Excidobates mysteriosus to the 2019 list. The other species showed-up very well but this species I had already seen an uncountable times this year at other collections, the Golden dart frog - Dendrobates auratus... ( 3 specimens seen ).

Zoo Ostrava (Ostrava, CZ) - visit on September 21, 2019 - NEW :)

    72) Hairy Frog (Trichobatrachus robustus) - vlasatice třásnitá

(Sorry for my late post, Ive been really busy these days. It is the only interesting species in Ostrava. And the animal is showed on very weird place - I almost missed it. I also visited Tiergarten Hagenbeck lately but I havent found any interesting species of Amphibians there. Are there any?

!!! - how is this not more widely discussed on Zoochat!? Did I know and just forgot?

Some searching on the site really only showed them mentioned in lintworm's top 50 European zoos thread, and there is a photo in the gallery: Hairy frog (Trichobatrachus robustus) - ZooChat

I managed to get a reasonable shot of the species during my own visit last month - I shall have to get it uploaded to the gallery :)

It is temporal, they ended the exhibiton on October 20th. Its really annoying as you could see amazing species there. They should fastly make nice and permanent exhibiton for them :)

So they are finally on show :). They were already signed last year, but I am quite sure they were not yet in the enclosure back then...

Last weekend visited several collection in the north of France and at the Paris Zoological Park I found quite a number of Amphibians, a good number of them being new for the Challenge :

    45 - Betsileo madagascar frog - Mantidactylus betsileanus ( LIFER for me :) )

46 - American bull frog - Lithobates catesbeianus

    20191117_123017 american bull frog - Lithobates catesbeianus.jpg

Also a good number of other amphibian-species which I already had seen at other collections this year and a number of missed species according to Zootierliste but its well possible that these were not on display anymore because at the European Vivarium one room was changed completely.

Guessing you missed the Macedonian Crested Newts (which are labelled as Great Crested Newt I believe) - if so, a pity as we don't have photographs of that species in the gallery :p

Thats indeed one of the species I missed as well as the Majorcan midwife toad and the Pinchincha dart frog but ZTL all mention them as being not seen sofar this year at Paris so maybe they are all kept behind the scenes or not kept anymore at all.
