Finally think I've ID-ed the turtle with the prominent yellow spots behind the eyes as a Ouachita map turtle, but of course I could be wrong, reptiles are still a big bag of mysteries to me! Also managed to see a Chinese Water Dragon after the un-countable one at Kew :) Not sure how many more places I'll be getting to before the end of the year, but don't think 136 is a bad total at all :)

    Brighton Sea Life 11/10/2016

    134. Chinese Water Dragon (Physignathus cocincinus)
    135. Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas)
    136. Ouachita map turtle (Graptemys ouachitensis)

Right had a little visit to Chester and much to my surprise I saw another 3 species that are now on-show but not labeled !

    273) Graham's Anole (Anolis grahami)
    274) Bronze Skink (Eutropis maculria)
    275) Oriental Brown-sided Skink (Eutropis multifasiata)

Not sure but I may still reach the 280 mark, but if I don't get any more this was the total I set myself at the start of the year so reaching 275 today, made a very pleasant wander round the zoo a very good day.

I would like to thank Shorts for creating such a great challenge I have enjoyed it so much and have gained knowledge on reptiles, a animal which I had never really taken any interest in before. Also I would like to thank zoogiraffe and all the others who have corrected me on all the mistakes I have made, but I can only keep on learning and hopefully next year I will have a mistake free year! (Everything crossed!) I will just finish off the year with my duplicate taxa, which will be up very soon!

I think everyone that has taken part would like to Shorts for setting it!

Also we all make mistakes and that includes me as even I haven't been trouble free as I have counted things twice more than once!!

We are all still learning or at least we should be,also I think many of us have found ztl is not very good to follow, and even the signage cannot always be trusted example Lintons Carpet Python!!

Final couple of question's with regards to your visit to CWP did you not see the Fiji Banded Iguanas and how many Green Tree Monitors did you see?

No problem, glad you've enjoyed it and I'm really pleased the challenge's opened your mind a bit more to reptiles. Without sounding too patronising or high minded (hopefully) I'm always hoping the challenge will expand "players" knowledge or experiences of zoos or animals (as well as being a little competitive fun).

Don't worry though, I don't think you'll make any identification mistakes on the 2017 challenge (details in a day or so) unless you're playing it blind drunk (obviously with a very understanding designated driver). :)

I would have to look back at the photos which are on my laptop but I have lost the charger and its gone dead :p Are the Green Tree Monitors the ones straight on as you walk in (by the Tarantulas and Beaded Lizard, if so that enclosure was being cleaned or something as all the animals and aesthetics of the enclosure had been emptied

Yes the Green Tree Monitors are in that one pity because if you had seen both it could have been interesting. If you have seen the Fijians I suggest you check my list again and you will see why!!
