Ungulates would probably have thrown this to Whipsnade, birds to Attica. As it is, the category is... large carnivores. Could be interesting - and given that one zoo I should very well known to most of us and the other is rather less familiar, the debate will be quite important I think.

Note: I'm dialling the number of days for each poll down to four, and will post one thread per day.

The concept behind this poll is explained here:
    ZooChat Cup

In summary, the rules of the game are as follows:
    - You may choose whatever criteria you like to decide how to vote, as long as it only relates to the category above.
    - You can use whatever resources you like to inform your vote, including Zoolex, Zootierliste, the ZooChat gallery, trip reviews, zoo maps, books and wherever else. You don't have to have visited both zoos to vote.
    - Votes are public and can be changed at any time before the poll closes.
    - The aim of the game is to provoke debate. Post explaining why you voted the way you did, and why others should join you.
    - Voting closes in four days
    - The one thing you can't do is vote based on anything other than the relevant category.

Would large reptiles and pinipeds be considered as large carnivores?

Regarding species I would say Attica but I wouldn't know about exhibit quality I might as well wait for other people's response.

Simple, but spacious and elegant. The lion exhibit was one of the top half dozen or so I saw in Europe. I can't really bring to mind the bear exhibits though.

On species Attica is marginally ahead, but both hold 7 of the species , whilst Whipsnade has Sri Lankan Sloth Bear against non special Wolf, harbour seal, jaguar & Puma. Not sure really whether Wolverine should be included or not
All Whipsnade enclosures are good to excellent, apart from sea lions. Never been to Attica , but looking in the gallery, Puma cage deserves a minus point ! Tiger, bear, jaguar enclosures average at best I need convincing not to vote for Whipsnade

I just looked at the gallery and I'm not sure what's there of the big cat enclosures does them justice. They are simple, home-built spaces but they are all a good size, and the cats have options to get away from visitors and a variety of surfaces and furnishings to use. And - though this is irrelevant to the cats - they sit well within their landscape.

Also I found this video that gives some glimpses of the bear exhibit.

3 days left, and so far only Pipaluk has voted. Big opportunity to have a decisive impact on a result, folks.

I heard that Attica mixes their Cheetah with White rhino and I heard it described as being a zoo tycoon zoo, but that's all I know :p

... I haven't played the game but that actually sounds about right. :D It has virtually everything ABC, and the exhibits tend to be decent and spacious, but all broadly the same.
