Is the big boom in 2010 one of the main leading causes of the Great Purge?
Pretty much - although don't forget that most of the photos purged had been online for at least 12 months, so the stats are actually a bit misleading there.
We didn't go from 15,000 photos in 2009 to nearly 55,000 photos in 2010 ... it would have been somewhere closer to 20,000 photos or more in 2009 - but still, the gallery did grow very rapidly during that period and caught us (and our hosting provider!) by surprise.
