    A full-time position (headkeeper) is available at Zoodoo Zoo (Tasmania) for an experienced keeper.
    The position will involve all aspects of a large range of animals as well as tour guiding. The headkeeper will work a rotating roster which will involve some weekend/public holiday work.
    This position is one of high responsibility and applicants must have;
    A full drivers licence, minimum 5 years previous zookeeping experience, experience with implementing and maintaining record keeping systems, a broad knowledge on a range of exotic species, a bold personality for engaging visitors on tours, a high level of strength/fitness, relevant qualifications.
    The role of headkeeper will involve work across the full range of species including Native, Agricultural and Exotic. Ideally applicants will be able to bring skills and experience working with big cats, primates and ungulates.

    While we will sometimes employ those with little experience and provide on-the-job training, this role is only open to those that have already had extensive experience with exotic species and managing those populations.

    If currently residing interstate, we are able to provide short-medium term accommodation for the right applicant to assist with the move.

    The position is available to start any time. There is no closing date at this stage, we will continue to assess applications until the right applicant is found.

    Ray is the Park Manager which comes with a very heavy workload, and has always comprised of also being the headkeeper. With the growth and development of the zoo, this role will now be split so that Park Manager and Headkeeper are separate roles with different focal areas.
