    Position Vacant - Zoodoo Wildlife Park - Tasmania
    Zookeeper & Tour Guide
    A position is now available for a Zookeeper & Tour Guide, combined as one position. The position offers a unique, outdoor career working with large variety of animals. The position will start off as a casual position with approx. 30+ hours per week with the potential to develop into a full-time position for the right person.
    Primary responsibilities of the position are to care for and maintain the species at Zoodoo Wildlife Park and to achieve customer satisfaction through interactive, educational and fun tours and presentations.
    Key responsibilities will include daily animal food preparation, cleaning, all aspects of animal husbandry, animal handling, accurate record keeping, public speaking, customer interaction, conducting tours.
    To apply, applicants must demonstrate that they have the following;
    • Previous experience working with a variety of animals
    • Previous experience with tour guiding / customer interaction
    • Workplace references to verify work ethic and character
    • Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
    • Broad knowledge of a range of animal species and handling techniques
    • High level of physical fitness and strength
    • Mature & approachable personality
    • Current unrestricted full manual car drivers licence
    • Flexibility to work a 7 day roster
    Additional points that may aid a successful application;
    • Relevant qualifications in areas such as Animal Sciences, Captive animal handling etc.
    • Ability to adequately handle machinery such as electric tools, chainsaws, lawn mowers, tractors etc
    • Firearms licence
    • First Aid Training
    • OH&S training
