"Findus"? The name of the lynx is "Findus"?

What about "Miraculi" for a moose, "Pepsi" for a skunk, "Opel" for a rhino, "Dr Oetker" for a giraffe and "Wriggley's" for a koala?:)
(Yes, I know, Gelsenkirchen doesn't keep koalas)

By the way: If there were 2 or more escaped individuals, the story would be even more funny: "Find us!"

On Dec. 4 a polar bear was born ") :

It's a pity, because Zoom has one of the finer hippo enclosures in Europe.

Any news on the polar bear cub coming out; I can't see any visitor photos on their facebook or my flickr from local photographers? Gelsenkirchen and Highland Wildlife Park are pretty much equidistant for me, so am considering a trip that way and seeing a couple of other collections en-route.

The cub seems to be inside still, but is doing well. It will probably come out soon, but I haven't seen any announcements yet.

Are the mother and cub in the enclosure furthest from Antonia? From what I remember and looking at my photos, I had trouble taking pictures through the glass there, whereas the Antonia and the middle enclosure had less distorted glass.

The second study of the little polar bear took place:
After four weeks, the little girl doubled her weight to 18 kg. Meanwhile, she has her full dentures. The second vaccination and the worming were well over. Our little eisbärin is chipper.

I noticed the zoo is closed today due to public service strikes? Is this a one off, or an ongoing situation?

The polar bear cub will be allowed to go outside from today onwards.
