And the great episode "The bird bot of ice-catraz". There was a bit when penguin chicks were reared by glove-puppet. Perfect parody of environmental movement.

On the commentaries on one of the Futurama episodes they talk about how they wanted to do at least one episode a season with a enviromental message...

I saw the Simpsons episode the other day when Mr. Burns bribes Homer to do embrassing things, including getting mated by the male Giant Panda at their local zoo..!

Here on Flemish television (Flanders => Dutch/Flemish speaking part of Belgium) there is a program about the life at the Antwerp Zoo.
It's called: 'life like it is at the Antwerp Zoo'. So that's good promotion for the zoo of course...

I found a very nice link to the "Zoo" comic I mentioned twice. However, it's in French & does depict some (artistic) nudity. Would posting it infringe upon any rules of this forum?

Here in the UK, zoo 'fly on the wall' type documentary series have been popular in the last few years- easy to film, nice animal subjects, lots of humour and the odd sad event. I can think of the following zoos which have been the subject of these type of programmes on different T.V. channels.
    Obviously the zoos benefit too from the additional publicity and increased visitor numbers such exposure generates;

London/Whipsnade- various over the years.-'the Zoo', 'supervets' etc
    Bristol- ' the zoo'.
    Twycross- title?
    Chester.'zoo days'
    Paignton 'zookeepers'
    Longleat-'animal park'
    Howletts/PL -'roar'(childrens)
    Dartmoor WP -'Ben's Zoo'
    Others? e.g.Dublin or Belfast

That only leaves Marwell, Dudley, Colchester, Edinburgh and Jersey, together with the other Safari Parks as the major collections which I'm not aware have been featured yet- maybe some of them already have?

Fairly recent, but if you haven't seen it, it may be because its only on regional tv. If you have sky i think its also on one of their channels but I'm not sure which.

There's also a series on Sky called The Little Zoo That Could or something similar about an American zoo rebuilding after being hit by a hurricane.

The Peter Greenaway film " A Zed and Two Noughts" is set in a zoo. Not many views of animals, it's more about death, decay, and symmetry. Definitely not to everyone's taste, but I enjoyed it and consider it one of his better films.

A show called "Wild Island" was on TV today, about Singapore Zoo...

Some young shaven headed American was milking King Cobras...
