Do you think zoos design their enclosure terribly?
San Diego seems to have concrete floor in almost all enclosure and the width is not enough. London Zoo gives their animals tiny and unnatural enclosure. But Edinburgh is the best also Berlin have tiny enclosure:(

So are you saying that Edinburgh Zoo is the only zoo in the world with appropriate enclosures? I haven't been but your description makes it seem many times better than any other zoo in the world and I highly doubt it. Of the zoos you specifically mention I have only been to London and I would hardly describe their enclosures as "tiny and unnatural"; some I thought were fantastic!

Have you *been* to either Berlin collection? :p if you think that, for instance, the camel enclosure at Tierpark Berlin - which is very nearly big enough to fit the entirety of Edinburgh Zoo - is small, I dread to think what you think a large enclosure would entail.......

Some enclosure are, not all of them. Edinburgh was the first to house penguin and their Penguin Rock are fantastic. Here are the top 5 worst zoo in the world:
    1. Surabaya Zoo
    2. Mumbai Zoo
    3. Giza Zoo
    4. Kiev Zoo
    5. San Antonio Zoo

And the 2 replies, I didn't meant it

Just did a quick Google search and found nothing to claim that Edinburgh was the first zoo to hold penguins.

Wikipedia isn't always right. And in this case, it definitely isn't.

I would suggest that no-one really knows the five worst zoos in the world, because even the best-travelled have probably not been to them. Even asking one person to pick their five least favourite would be highly subjective, and would depend to a great deal on how recently they had attended those particular zoos. I've seen zoos change a great deal (for better and for worse) even in a very short period.

In any case, 'some people saying' something does not make it true - it may be, or it may not, or it may (as here) simply be a matter of opinion. Just something to bear in mind as you browse the web as their is an awful lot of opinion out there and quite a lot of it comes with no evidence of the knowledge or experience of the people offering the opinion - so best to be wary of taking things at face value (even on here - we're all learning and gaining experience all the time). :)

Just in terms of London Zoo, it held the following species prior to Edinburgh opening:

    Eudyptes sclateri - 1888 until c.1895
Spheniscus demersus - 1867 until ?, bred the species in 1906.
    Aptenodytes patagonicus - 1865 until 1872, 1875, 1879, 1883
    Eudyptula minor - 1887 until ?
    Spheniscus magellanicus - 1882 until ?
    Eudyptes chrysocome - 1873 until ?
    Pygoscelis papua papua - 1874 until ?
    Megadyptes antipodes - 1891 until ?, 1904 until ?
    Spheniscus humboldti - 1871 until ?
    Eudyptes moseleyi - 1881 until ?

London Zoo is not the world's oldest zoo. :p

The oldest still-operating zoo is generally considered to be Tiergarten Schönbrunn in Vienna (and it's still one of the very best, to my mind).

You heard from whom? Were they a credible source? How do you know the information you got was correct? What are your qualifications for for making such a claim?
