Jurong Bird Park used to have every pelican species in the same lake, although Peruvian appears to be gone now, and possibly also Brown.

Turtle Back Zoo has every big cat save for tiger, plus cheetah, puma, and bobcat.

They were all at Jurong at the same time, but they were not all on the same lake.

Obterre hasa pretty ridiculous number of deer species, more than Tierpark Berlin last I checked, although the latter beats it in caprids, an area in which the Tierpark is rather dominant.

In the not so taxonomically-sound pachyderms, Pairi Daiza, Beauval and a few others tie with 5 (both have pygmy hippo, hippo, african elephant and white rhinoceros, but Pairi has Asian elephant and Beauval has Indian rhinos in addition).

San Diego Zoo also ties with African Elephant, Asian Elephant, Greater One-Horned Rhino, Pygmy Hippo, Hippo (This is if we only include the zoo and not the species the entire organization owns which would add white rhino and black rhino from the safari park)

Antwerp Zoo has 10 species of geckos. I don't know how this number stands worldwide but for Europe this should be a record.

Plzen has - according to ZTL - 50 species with the name "gecko" in its common name. Even though some might not be true geckos, they probably have more than Antwerp.

@Batto @Rayane : I'm sorry, you're both right, I certainly forgot to check Plzen (both zoos mentioned by Batto are unknown to me).

@Batto was talking about Naja species, which is a genus of cobras, so not related to your discussion on geckos ;)

Wonderful. It always intrigues me I remember once,Birdworld,in the UK,had/has quit a good selection of owl species.WOnder how it is with other zoos and their avian collections, especially the birds of prey, pigeons, parrots and phasianidae

Loro Parque has the biggest parrot collection worldwide no doubt.
Tierpark Berlin has 18 forms of pheasant, Plzen has 17.
Walsrode has 45 different pigeons, Plzen has 44.
Cologne "only" has 30 but 14 of them are Fruit-doves making them the zoo with the most fruit doves species.

I would guess either Walsrode or Jurong.

Jurong has around 400 species making it most likely the largest in the world. I could only count 170 species at San Diego without the Scripps aviary or any of the other random aviaries around the park so I would put the actual number around 300-350. I don't have much knowledge on Walsrode though
