Good news from Zürich female Asian elephant Farha is pregnant and expected to give birth at the start of 2023! At start of this month the first (male) Northern koala (Phascolarctos cinereus cinereus) that was born in Zoo Zürich was send to Zoo de Beauval in return they send a female to Zürich. Another new rare species was recently put on display in the Australienhaus, namely 3 Exuma Island iguanas (Cyclura cychlura figginsi). I persume they came from Zoo Vienna, which according to ZTL is the only other holder in Europe. I am not sure whether Zoo Vienna still keeps this species or if these were their last individuals. @TheoV: Yes they are. And yes, it has been refurbished for the iguanas. Also the former 2 terrariums for Australien reptiles has been transformed into one tank for 2 Savu-Island-Pythons.
