    ...as have the grey parrots


    ...and the zebra (no video).

    ...and two new images of the ongoing 'lewa savanna' development.

    Lewa savanna looks really good. A really beautiful zoo.

    Big press release today: Medien-Apéro Dezember: Ausblicke | Zoo Zürich

    - three elephants expected to give birth in 2020
    - 'lewa' savanna to open on 9 April. Many animals have already arrived and are currently in quarantie.
    - 'pantanal' aviary planned for 2023. The entire area (ca. 7'500 sqm according to online maps) is planned to be covered with an aviary.
    - new enclosure for gorillas uphill of lewa in planning for 2025 (ca. 1 ha; there are delays with the planning application).
    - new enclosure for orang utans planned in current location, once gorillas have moved.

    Lewa savanna will be really great. Rhinoceros, giraffes ... Appearance also looks very good. I heard that one of the imported female rhinos might be pregnant.

    All seem white rhino from herd at Ramat Gan, although the one named Talatini does not ring a bell yet: the breeder is Tanda and a 2014 born daughter and a bull born 2017 by a different F at RG.
