Thank you for this data, which does not actually clarify if the EEP is looking for new holders or not, which was my point.
Well, it might not be directly stated there, but I understand this part: as that they are indeed looking for more holders. And just to note, as far as Black rhinos are concerned the TAG report just mention their numbers, there is not said if they are looking for new holders.
White rhinos are the first animals which explore the new Savanna enclosure which will open with Eastern : https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=659541688138392
It might have been mentioned before but the sadly the second koala male has passed away the german article mentioned the chance of offsprings since both female koalas mated with the last male before his death i wanted to link the news site of the zoo but weirdly it was bot available but i assure u this is not an april fool but here another source Ein zweiter Koala verstorben | Zoo Zürich
Kein Happyend bei der zweiten Elefantengeburt in diesem Jahr | Zoo Zürich Elephant cow Farha gave birth to a calf in Zurich, but after an hour it was found dead with great head damage. This probably suggests that the mother killed the calf. But the birth was also present Ceyla Himali and she should prevent it. Either the calf was unviable, or Ceyla simply did not prevent it. But it is a huge loss. It was a cow.Hopefully will get pregnant again soon.
40 minute documentary (in Swiss German) on the Lewa Savanna, which should have opened yesterday if not for Covid-19. Einstein - TV - Play SRF
Thank you for sharing, it’s a great programme with lots of views of the new complex. Highly recommended.
Wow, this looks absolutely fantastic. I will definitely have to come visit Zurich again in the future.
OK, thanks. The video does not show everyone ... Well, neither too little nor too much so it's perfect isn't it?
White rhino female Tanda has given birth May 7th to a female calf. She arrived already pregnant ex Safari Ramat Gan in Israel. Link: Erste Nashorn-Geburt in der Lewa Savanne | Zoo Zürich
Found this report from the Jerusalem Post on the circumstances surrounding the publicised transfer of 1,3 white rhinos to Zurich Zoo. Apparently, the very fact that Tanda had been suffering from an overabundant attention of flies had inflamed her visionary tract prompting the zoo to relocate her to Switzerland where conditions are not so hot and humid. Sadly, the report is not without its flaws like stating the most births and 30 rhinos at Ramat Gan Safari as well as stating the the newborn Rafiki from 2018 was a northern white C. cottoni..... So much for fact checking your write ups for some journalists.
