With Jungle Odyssey on horizon 2017 should be a interesting year for the zoo.

Oh I forgot that. Glad he is finally making his debut after 2 years. Is he the only captive elephant seal in America?

There are no more snow leopards at the zoo. They will return with the mountains exhibit

This is sad news. I wonder what will replace her in her exhibit.

They aren't sure, but it might be another cat from Asia. When I asked they said they don't know what they will do with the exhibit

It will likely be a smaller cat or other species since it is not a large exhibit. I even heard Pallas cat several years ago. I see some at least minor renovations no matter what goes in there. I do not see the exhibit empty long term since it is the first exhibit as you enter the zoo.

I take it that the conservation solarium will open in 2018 since it is next after Jungle Odyssey this year.

I found the follow at VisitPittsburgh involving the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. Not considered official until the zoo officially announces dates:

    Dinosaurs: 5/29-9/4
    Jungle Odyssey: opens 6/20

Pittsburgh's Dinosaurs will be located in the train yard back behind the reservoir. The train has been closed for several years. Guests will walk back where the train track used to go. The entire area is being refurbished.
