Australian Outback - Koala house

Just a low barrier separates visitors from the 4 female Koalas. The enclosure is lit with natural light via skylights and a large window that looks out into the kangaroo enclosure, as well as spotlights.

So is there anything, other than the keepers, stopping the koalas from wandering into the public area?

@PAT: There's a small trench behind the barrier that's just wide enough to stop the koalas from climbing out.

Does Singapore still keep Koalas?

@Nix No. Singapore Zoo has never kept koalas permanently.

@Zooish when did Singapore keep koalas? Also is this the tree kangaroo exhibit now?

@aardvark250 Singapore Zoo has housed koalas twice - in 1991 for 8 months (on loan from Taronga Zoo) and in 2015 for 10 months (on loan from Lone Pine sanctuary).

Yes this space has been converted to house Goodfellow's tree kangaroos.
