On July 10 a Brown-headed spider monkey was born, it's a female. Also the gender of the Owl-faced monkey which was born earlier this year is known, it's a girl !

2 of the 4 new Kangaroes have young. I thought I had heared Antwerp had obtained Wallaroos but infact they are Eastern grey kangaroos ( you was right Devilfish ! ). The Kangaroos were still seperated from the Emus by a fence.

New species at Antwerp Zoo : 4 Skunks ( 3 males and 1 albino female ) are living in the Raccoon-enclosure. For the moment, the Raccoons are kept seperated but later the 2 species should be living together ( FB ).
They took one female from Basel when the latter zoo switched to Kordofan - in 2011, according to Zootierliste. I saw her at the start of September - picture attached. She was the last Masai Giraffe in Europe proper - the only others on Zootierliste are at Faruk Yalcin Zoo in Turkey.
Koala's and Tree Kangaroo will join the collection later this year Quote from Facebook: Great news! Starting from the spring half-term we welcome koalas in our Zoo.
