Aardvark Burrow at Colchester 29/11/09

With the new extension - effectively a smaller version of the whole exhibit grafted onto the end, which at least gives them the capacity to split the group. The zoo has a very good breeding record with this species.

Sorry i had a blonde moment there as well! :(

Yes the Margays have left the zoo now. The male went a few months ago and the female has just left. Someone on zoochat had said they may? have gone to Amazona Zoo.

Sorry to be picky GillP but it was the Margay enclosure that was removed for the Leopards. The Pallas cats are the ones housed opposite the binturongs/near the wilds of asia area in the heights zone :D
Personally I think that this enclosure has been redeveloped fairly well, giving it much more space and it means that the male wont be moved everytime there is a birth. However I don't like the African Murals painted on the walls
Responding to ZooGiraffe I agree that there isn't much wrong with Orangutan forest as has been said on these forums. A few plants in the outdoor area would set it off nicely.
Also in reply to people commenting on this thread from the USA, please don't say that the whole zoo is terrible when you probably haven't even visited, and the pictures on here cannot show the whole zoo so don't take these as being all there is! :)

      Yes, you're right

But the Geoffroy's cat was the last occupant of that enclosure so I was half right !!! (and I still don't know where it is !)

Colchester is obviously very fond of its fake-rock-work but the think is that it does use it better in some places than others.

BTW the new amur leapard exhibit is looking great despite the fake rock work and I can't wait till its completed.
