      Male and female asian elephants in a very poor exhibit, actually one of Morelia zoo s worst enclosures. Very small for the elephants, no pool or sand. This exhibit lowers the quality of the zoo greatly.

      The tusks on that bull elephant look impressive, but this specimen looks underweight

      I personally don´t think he is underweight, no protruding hips or even rips. The problem is that we zoo goers mostly see overweight or obese elephants in zoos and take it as a standard.

      This pair of asian elephants arrived at morelia zoo as adults when it opened in the early seventies. Has their age affected their appetite, i do not know.
