      Somehow a bit odd to see them so far North.

      Do you know which other herd they were sourced from?

      I wonder if they can breed successfully up here?

      I'm not sure - there was quite a nice little herd, though (this isn't the whole group).

      I believe they are indeed a breeding herd. As I understand it most of the Barasingha in the UK originally derive from either Whipsnade or Port Lympne.

      And the Whipsnade barasingha stock originated from Woburn

      While Port Lympne's came from I believe, East Berlin.

      I haven't see any evidence that the stock from the two different sources have yet been merged anywhere within the UK though.
