      That's a hell of a lot of belugas...Imagine the food bill. :)

      It is a great shame that so many instititutions seem to view cetaceans as merely large goldfish - if you toss 'em in a swimming pool they'll be happy. Despite enrichment being widely used in pretty much all modern zoos, whales and dolphins always seem to be forgotten. If an elephant were given an equivalent exhibit, there would be an out-cry yet with equally intelligent creatures the only remark made is about the size of the food bill for all the animals having to live in these barren and unsuitable conditions.

      They had enrichment there and trainers who worked with them. Also they can use all thee dimensions of the tank. An elephant could not in its exhibit.
