A really nice species. Would very much welcome if they become more commonly exhibited within European zoos!
Not sure that it *is* a Blotched Genet; I believe one of the diagnostic criteria for said taxon is a lack of the long black crest of hair along the spine, which this animal appears to retain. As such I suspect this is the very similar Rusty-spotted Genet (Genetta maculata)
Blimey - the ever changing faces of a genet!! Any advance on Rusty-spotted? It does seem right based on black crest though.... Could it just be a local variation on the Common genet?
