      Very nice photo!

      The pelage is similar to a Tibetan blue bear in that this bear and the blue bear have a blond collar. Perhaps this is one or at least has some blue bear blood in it?

      some brown bear subspecies have pale collars, and they appear in individual bears of other areas as well.

      I think this might be one of the bears that Safari Niagara claim as Syrian Brown Bears - there appear to be numerous roadside zoos in North America with "Syrian bears". (I said on another older thread that in North America "Syrian bears" are like the new "Barbary lions" - i.e. generic animals given a catchy "rare" name).

      I would be hesitant to say if there is any as blue bear lineage here.
      As Chlidonias pointed out, I believe this is one of the bears the zoo classifies as "Syrian bears." Based off most of my experience at this facility, I wouldn't take their claims too seriously.
