Callosciurus (finlaysoni) ferrugineus

A very nice surprise! A group held in an enclosure labelled for tri-coloured squirrels (and which previously held raccoons). Photo taken with my mobile (my camera died the day before). Thanks to TLD for the ID. Photo taken on the 12th July 2015.

      did the sign just say "tri-coloured squirrels" or did it say "Callosciurus prevostii" as well? I have seen finlaysonii called "tri-coloured squirrels" in the pet trade, which is where these ones would have come from.

      Ah ok, I had no idea. Out of interest, what's the third colour?
      I think the enclosure label only said 'tri - coloured squirrels', but the website and some literature mentioned/illustrated Prevost's.

      I have no idea - most finlaysonii are just two colours!
