      Agreed! Especially since the Ultramarine Grosbeak has such an appropriate name and is far less spectacular.

      In certain lights (and in photos taken without flash) they do appear purple.

      Not so ridiculous when there is another, better known species with identical appareance except by the colour of the legs (red-legged honeycreeper) :)
