When doing a little sea-watching and casual birding at about 0830 on Saturday I managed - through sheer fortune and no skill whatsoever - to pick up this extremely attractive vagrant individual; my attention was initially attracted by the mere fact it was a shrike, as I had never seen a wild one within the United Kingdom until this point, and I gave little thought to the three or four people already watching and photographing the bird.

However, the rapidly-growing crowd of twitchers arriving at the site quickly gave away the fact it was something a little more special than a mere Red-backed Shrike - and conversation with some of them led me to realise just what I was watching :p as such I ended up watching, and occasionally photographing, this individual for well over an hour before resuming my walk along the coast.

I believe this individual was first sighted in the mid-evening of the 28th October, and was last seen in the late-evening of the 30th October.
