      Interesting...used to be home to bat-eared foxes. I may be wrong (I often am), but I think the exhibit goes back a ways.

      The exhibit is very tiny and not only that but is essentially a large grey slab of cement with almost zero natural substrate on the ground. The bat-eared foxes are now next to the meerkat/klipspringer enclosure.

      In the formal serval exhibit, above guests' heads and behind wire? Slightly better for them, I think.

      Looks like they need to replace black-footed cats with fennec foxes.

      Or a lizard. Just a question for anyone who has seen this in person: What do you think would be an appropriate species for this little cave?

      No animal. Maybe a plant of some kind.

      that's a bit harsh: plants need light to grow!
