Douc at Regents Park

This female was kept at the ZSL for a couple of years. The smaller monkey is a talapoin. Photo taken 27/4/73.

      'Dook' does sound about right. Surely someone can tell us the correct pronunciation?

      I’ve always pronounced ‘Douc’ to rhyme with ‘fluke’ (not rhyme with ‘book’) but I have no idea whether or not this is correct.

      I'd say "Dook" as that's what I've heard most others call them and it seems to make sense.

      a better discription of what i meant was it's not that long ago in zoological terms
