As well as the mallards, which are a ‘fly-in, fly-out’ species, this photo also shows red-breasted goose (Branta ruficollis), Eurasian teal (Anas crecca), Chiloe wigeon (Mareca sibilatrix), common pochard (Aythya ferina), fulvous whistling duck (Dendrocygna bicolor), marbled duck (Marmaronetta angustirostris), rosybill (Netta peposaca), red-crested pochard (Netta rufina), African comb duck (Sarkidiornis melanotos), tufted duck (Aythya fuligula), white-cheeked pintail (Anas bahamensis), Northern shoveler (Spatula clypeata), cinnamon teal (Spatula cyanoptera) and blue-winged teal (Spatula discors); all captive birds. In total thirty-eight captive species are signed as being present in this free-to-view waterfowl enclosure, of which I saw all but four species.
