Great tusks on Sang Radja at that young age (12y).

      What happened to Bindu's tusks?
    • Animal
He never had real long tusks. Not sure why.

Is this the Bindu who accidentally killed a keeper in the Aspinall collection many years ago?
    • Saro
This is Aspinalls Bindu. I believe he arrived at Köln in 2004 and he killed a keeper in 1984.
    • Tim May
Yes, it is the same elephant that was previously at Port Lympne.

Looks like he got his dad's good genes. Hope he doesn't break them like his dad though.

Its great to see Raja all grown up.

I had, the pleasure of working with Bindu at Port Lympne back in the mid to late 80,s, he only ever had peg,s not tusk,s. He farther calfs, at Lympne, am not sure if any survived, while i was there Rani had a calf by Bindu but saddley the calf was stillborn.
    • Pertinax
The only calf to survive was 'Sittang' and he would have been fathered by 'Luka.' Even he died at two years old, shortly before the Asian elephants were dispersed.
