Gravid broad-nosed pipefish

Syngnathus typhle (I think). At least two of the specimens in this tank were heavily gravid males. The books say this native species breeds in the summer, so I suspect that these fish spawned in the aquarium, rather than being caught in this condition. Gallery behind Eddystone Reef tank, National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth, 17th March 2016.
