Great Flight Aviary

Close to a century old and still fully functional!

@Zoofan15 Definitely. Down the line I'd love to see it remain as an aviary, potentially with species such as Koala, Tree Kangaroo and Echidna introduced too. They'd make the historic aviary so much better!

@Jambo Koala would be perfect for this. The Snowdon Aviary is a great example of how a decades old aviary can be refurbished for another species.

@Zoofan15 Further down there's a rainforest section that would be perfect for Tree Kangaroo too. Most visitors have complained about the lack of species lately so throwing in Koalas and Tree Kangaroos will surely make for a more active and engaging exhibit.

@Jambo It’s surprising more Australian zoos don’t do this. It can’t accomodate a fully grown Eucalyptus tree, but most zoos have a basic climbing frame/platform system for their Koala so people can see them at eye height anyway. The tree kangaroos would also be a good fit.
