Is it common for Hartmanns zebras to have the 'wattle' on the neck, is it a sexually dimorphic thing or is it a species trait?
    • jbnbsn99
It's a species trait seen in all Mountain Zebras.

Thats brill thank you, I've never seen it before is all!

Another familiar trait is the 'ears back' stance- they are somewhat antisocial creatures.

I've heard they're quite unsociable creatures, I know Paignton and Marwell have had trouble with males being aggressive to other animals in a mixed species enclosure.
