Himalaya entrance complex at Twycross 03/05/10

Snow Leopard exhibit. Still unoccupied, with staff watering in the plants today. A pretty nice exhibit actually but I still think a more active species would have been a better choice.

I think possibly the only place the S.leopards may be invisible in the exhibit is if they go 'over the top', there is a short grass-turfed bank behind, but they still aren't actually hidden from people (inside the zoo), even there.

I also noticed a quite big gap above the 'visitor viewing window' (see your later photo) and I hope they have remedied that now.

@Maguari: thanks for posting the latest photos of this snow leopard exhibit. The amazing thing about ZooChat is that within days of a new enclosure opening somewhere around the world then sure enough there is a ZooChatter ready to post photos of it on this amazing website. Then of course the debate really begins!:)

      You're very welcome!

Although this exhibit is fully visible, there aren't actually any of your namesakes in there yet - they're still in their temporary exhibit elsewhere in the zoo. It doesn't look like there's too much else to do on it though, so I don't think it'll be long before it's up and going.

Whatever my reservations about the complex as a whole, this enclosure is definitely one of Twycross' best exhibits (or will be, once occupied!).
