      just a quick question or two...

      i am really quite interested in this enclsoure and would like to know how people felt about it? and also is there supposed to be a standoff barrier as i can't see one in the pic (hope it isn't me going blind)?

      Those "paddocks" that you can see in the photo aren't paddocks. They are just areas of grass, so that fence is adequete ;)

      The hippo paddocks and lakes are to the left of this photo and a little further in the distance and a path leads down to a better view of the enclosure (as can be seen in other photos of mine)

      Edit: To the left of this photo is connecting pathway that was used by the pygmy hippos when they were at Whipsnade. This pathway continued behind where I was standing and carried on under a bridge into a set of paddocks that are behind this photo to the right.

      thanks:D, i thought the fence looked a little, shall we say Fragile, foir such an impressive and potentially dangerous species.
