It's an Aardwolf's life - Hamerton 2018

Here we have two aardwolves sleeping in Hamerton Zoo. From what I have heard, the Aardwolf is in fact part of a different lineage from the three 'true' hyaenas, though most members on the site still consider it a hyaena nevertheless. Hamerton keeps two kinds of aardwolf in two different enclosures..

..I believe these are the Tanzanian Aardwolves. As far as rarities, oddities, and Australian fauna go, Hamerton's collection is perhaps the most impressive in the entire UK - adorned with the likes of aardwolf, pudu, two subspecies of cassowary, quoll, wombat, tayra, dingo, grison, a robust collection of small cats, a number of possums... surely a must for any foreign trip to the UK, or perhaps a foreign trip to Europe !

Well, the aardwolves and quoll are no more – though afaik all else mentioned is, still very much worth a visit !
