Do you mean kangaroo rat (Dipodomys), or have they really imported rat kangaroos (Hypsiprymnodon moschatus)? The former seems much more likely, but would not be geographically appropriate with koalas, whilst the latter would be, though I was unaware of any in captivity, never mind any outside of Australia.
