Las Cienegas NCA is a natural grassland on the north side of the small ranching community of Sonoita, Arizona. Parts of it are still a working ranch. It is accessed by a gravel road that essentially does a large L, going north from Highway 82 (which borders it on the south side) and east from Highway 83 (which borders it on the west side). This view is looking west (so Highway 83 is hidden between me and the mountains in the distance). Its main claim to fame is a reintroduction site for the formerly extirpated black-tailed prairie dog. Pronghorn roam the area (but are easier seen from the main highways) as do mule deer and coyote and various other desert wildlife.
